The independent music scene is celebrating with the announcement of Dan Slyker's latest release, Sellouts and Train Tracks.

Coming from a coast guard family, Dan slyker spent a lot of his young life living in cool places including Florida, Louisiana, and Virginia.

Slyker has taken inspirations from his exposure to country and bluegrass, as well as the west coast twang offered by artists such as Linda Ronstadt. This allows the ability to write songs that are a mix of them all to create a sound like no other.

"Country music has become too serious and cookie cutter lately....so I'm here to break some molds, tell some stories and kick some ass." Slyker Writes.

Leading with his latest album, Sellouts and Train Tracks is a complete dive into the ever evolving face of country music. With refreshing elements of humor and lightheartedness, this album serves to provide an insight on what he feels the heart of the genre should represent.

Slyker notes: “This album is a commentary on how today’s traditional country artists are finally moving to the forefront past those who had turned the genre into a stereotype.”

Stream "Sellouts and Train Tracks" today, and keep up with Dan Slyker's Musical Journey.
